Discover Sweetbriar just south of Castella, CA.  Darling bungalows, cottages and cabins dot this tiny little community along the Sacramento River just 40 miles north of Redding Ca. Huge pine trees, mossy river rocks, huge ferns and native birds all contribute to an organic and peaceful getaway. Long walks around the neighborhood and across the old wood bridge are memorable. We promise that a weekend at Rivercast Cabin will melt your stress and bring back the simpler life of yesteryear. Perfect for getaways of every king: week stays, girls retreat, date weekends and Father/child stays to fish. We can offer suggestions of where to go, what to bring or what fish are biting.
 
Rivercast cabin is a darling 1940's cabin remodeled with modern touches. It sits right on the river with the deck overlooking the gorgeous length of the river. Tall trees offer shade and there is plenty of deck furniture and table to relax outside. The cabin has a Full kitchen with everything you need to cook meals, including drip/keurig coffee machine, micro, stove, fridge.There are two bedrooms with all fresh new bedding, one with two twin beds and one with a queen bed. The living room has two sofas, one is a sofa sleeper. There is a small dining table for 4. 
 
The oversized redwood deck is perfect for relaxing, fishing, bar-b-ques, playing cards, or sharing those moments when you - "almost had that big trout". Just sit and watch the osprey swoop down for their gourmet lunch! Great hiking trails and swimming holes nearby.  Bring your camera, the air is sweet and the area is beautiful.

Sorry, no internet but we can get calls and some data on phones. The cabin has a new DVD player and lots of movies to catch up on. It is nice to unplug. If you must get emails, a short drive up the road can get your phone connected again. There are no stores really close so bring what you need.

There are swimming holes and fishing holes near. You will see kayakers and hikers wind their way down the river along with jumping fish and the peaceful rush of the river's melodic sounds.
 
Of course, the tap water, the best on earth! Closed for the winter season November 1st to April 1st. We do take bookings for next spring and summer now so call and reserve!! Note:  You will hear the train so please bring ear plugs for night time  if you are sensitive to trains.  Cabin has small heaters and plenty of fans for summer. The nights are cool due to the river. Check out the stars at night!!

Rivercast Cabin and Uppercast cabin sit side by side each with their own private huge deck but there is an adjoining gate so parties can rent both cabins if available.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $75.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $75.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
